Commander Randy Nelson and Auxiliary President Diane Bohlman had the honor of attending the Annual Anoka County Fair Flag Raising Ceremony. What better way to celebrate our 250th US Anniversary and the kickoff to our six-day fair! A big shout out to the Anoka American Legion for being the host post, the County Board of Commissioners and the Veteran organization in attendance!

Commander Randy Nelson had the opportunity to be the Master of Ceremonies for the Annual 4th of July Flag Raising at the Anoka County Government Center commemorating our 250th Birthday of the United States of America! Happy 250th Birthday USA!

As the Commander of the Coon Rapids American Legion I had the honor to serve with the Coon Rapids VFW for Memorial Day ceremonies at Epiphany Cemetery, Joyce Chapel Cemetery, and flag ceremony at the Coon Rapids VFW. Please take a moment this weekend to pause and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms our nation cherishes.

As Commander of the Coon Rapids American Legion Post 334 and Chair of the Anoka County Veterans Council, I am deeply honored to serve as Master of Ceremonies for our Memorial Day ceremony at Morningside Gardens Cemetery and Bunker Hill Veterans Memorial. The bravery of those who have served is what keeps America free. This Memorial Day weekend, let us take a moment to honor and remember those who have given their lives for God, Family, and Country.

Commander Randy Nelson, 2nd Vice Commander Gene Otteson, Auxiliary President Anne Steffen, and members of the Auxiliary attended the 10th District Mid-Winter Conference.

Commander Randy Nelson participated in the quarterly Anoka County Veteran’s Service meeting held at the Anoka American Legion. All Veterans are encouraged to attend and learn about the resources and services available to them. The next meeting will take place on March 23.

A Celebration of Commander Brent Millsop’s Life is this Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the American Legion Edward B. Cutter Post 102, 400 W. Main St., Anoka, MN from 12PM - 4PM with a Memorial Services beginning at 1PM and fellowship following the service at 2PM.
